Kind Words from Some Nice People

Thomas Hill, Volunteer Adventure Corps

"Late last year I must have reached out to a dozen web developers/SEO experts as we were having some major challenges with our website. I must say that Dave went way beyond the call of duty to help us out. The level of professionalism and integrity is unparalleled in the industry.

If you’re a budget-conscious small business looking a building a site for the first time, want a complete overhaul of your current site, or even just need a no-BS appraisal to have them take a look at the back-end of your site/code, I HIGHLY recommend Dave.

Thank you so much again!"

Melissa Dery, The Golden Rule VA

"When it came time to freshen up my website it was suggested I take a look at Dave. I submitted a request for a review and was BLOWN away at the complete and thorough response I got. Dave had taken so much time and care to give me a comprehensive review of my site, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt this was the RIGHT person for the job! Needless to say I was not disappointed! The very day my fresh new website was live I immediately started getting more requests for consultations!

My site has consistently performed better than ever before. I’m thrilled at the level of service I received, so much so that I refer ALL my clients in need of any website work to Dave, knowing he will treat my clients with the same high level of care, respect and professionalism that I do and that I received while working with Dave and his team. If you are looking for service that exceeds your expectations, look no further, you’ve found it!"

David S. Chang

"Getting a good website up and running is not an easy task. I struggled for a year to find the right design, widgets, and advice to get what I wanted. All this changed when I used Dave’s services. My only regret is not using him sooner, it would have saved me tons of time and resources.

The work was extremely professional and responsive. In addition, he took the extra step to give me advice on what I could do to make my site even better than I could have imagined. Dave took the time to answer all of my questions, give critical feedback, and explained what the process was going to be like. I definitely recommend that anyone looking to start a website, or who needs help with web maintenance, to use Dave’s services. You will not regret it!"

David Johnson, Crotched Mountain Foundation

"I've been involved in multiple WordPress website builds over the years and my recent experience with Dave Soucy was the best. His creativity, flexibility, quick response, and airtight expertise resulted in an incredible new site that has been met with rave reviews.

If your old site is in desperate need of a rebirth, Dave Soucy is your guy."

Laurie-Ann Murabito

"Dave gets it! I’ve had four websites in my past, designed by four different companies. Finding a web designer is easy, finding someone who understands how to represent you on the internet, and more importantly, keep your visitor there is the hard part.

Dave knows how to create the ultimate visitor experience."

Bill Millios, Owner, Back Lot Films

"Dave made the entire process straightforward and easy to understand – whether it was brainstorming first ideas during the initial layout phase or discussing any last-minute tweaks closer to the launch date. From concept to completion their goal was to always maintain as high quality as possible in all areas.

I found Dave to be very professional in creating a website that my company is extremely proud of."

Barefoot Web Designs FAQ

How long will it take to design and build my website?

Most often, you can have your new site up and running in a two to three weeks or so, but the timeline varies with every client. The biggest variable in the timeline is how long it takes you to provide me with the content (text and images) needed for the site.

Will you register my domain for me?

No, you should always register your own domains. If anyone (web designer, developer, marketing agency, anyone...) ever says they will take care of registering your domain, run away. If they register it, they control it, not you. That means they can charge you more, change terms, or even take your domain away from you, because they are essentially the owners of that domain.

So again, ALWAYS REGISTER YOUR DOMAINS YOURSELF. I use Google Domains to register mine. Quick, easy, only $12/year, and they don't try to upsell you on a bunch of services you don't need.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Absolutely! If your site is looking a little tired, dated, or just doesn't reflect you or your business any more, a redesign can be a big boost for your business.

Which credit cards do you accept?

I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover through my secure online payment system, as well as ACH and checks.

How much will a new website cost?

Barefoot has pricing plans for Small Businesses and Nonprofits which provide you with an elegant, full-featured site and virtual webmaster services for a convenient, budget-friendly monthly investment.

If you'd rather pay up front, have out of the box requirements, or don't want virtual webmaster services, Barefoot will provide you with a custom quote.

Learn about our pricing details here.

Do you require a long-term contract?

Both our Small Business and Nonprofit Design/Build pricing plans require a minimum 12-month agreement after the site is launched. Custom plans do not require a minimum agreement.

Virtual WordPress Webmaster services are month to month and you can cancel at any time.

Do I have to keep paying that monthly fee forever?

Short answer, no. In fact, Custom plans do not require a minimum monthly agreement at all.

Both of the Small Business and Nonprofit pricing plans require a minimum 12-month agreement after the site is launched. These plans allow smaller businesses to spread out the investment for a new website over the course of a year, while also providing our Virtual WordPress Webmaster services.

After the 12 months is up, you can continue on with our Virtual Webmaster services, or you are welcome to get your own hosting account, transfer your site there, and manage it yourself.

Unlike with some other developers and agencies, with Barefoot, once your site is paid for, you own it and Barefoot will never hold it hostage. We'll even create the backup for you that you can take to your new host.

What if I need more project time in a month?

While most clients find one hour of project time per month to be plenty, if you have a larger project in a month, you simply pay an hourly rate for any time beyond your included hour.

How will I be charged?

Plans are on a monthly subscription basis. Barefoot accepts credit cards, ACH, or checks. You will be automatically billed for your plan every month until you cancel.

Does my project time roll over if I don't use it?

No, if  don't use your project time credit in the billing period it was earned, it will not roll over into the next month, and it does not accumulate.

What types of businesses do you work with?

I work mainly with small businesses and nonprofits. I have built and maintain sites for human service organizations, schools, unions, salons, consultants, speakers, authors, restaurants, service providers, and others.

How often do you back up my site?

Your site is automatically backed up daily. All backups are stored securely offsite so that if disaster ever strikes, your backups are still safe and sound.

Do you monitor uptime?

Yes, your site will be checked every 5 minutes to make sure it is up and running. If your site is down, I'm notified automatically and will check out the situation. Most downtime is the result of a temporary glitch with your webhost and is rectified within a minute or so. In that case, I won't even bother you. If it is something more than that, I'll be in touch to fill you in on the situation.

Do you offer web hosting?

Yes, high quality web hosting is included with Barefoot Virtual Webmaster plans.

Can I add Virtual Webmaster to multiple sites?

Yes you can. Additional sites are $129/month for the Basics plan, and $149/month for the Business plan. All sites must be on the same plan.

What can I use my monthly project time for?

You can use it to have me fix something on your site, add a plugin or functionality, update your design, add or edit content, discuss strategy, etc.

Will I be able to add blog posts on my own?

Sure thing. Once your site is up and running, WordPress makes it easy for you to add content to your site. I'll show you how, or if you like, I can do it for you as part of your included project time.

How often do you scan my site for malware?

Your site will be scanned daily for malware or other irregularities daily.

I broke my site. Can you restore a backup?

Yes, I can do that as part of the project time you're allotted per month.

What happens if a plugin update breaks my site?

The short answer is I'll fix it. I can roll back the update using your last backup, or if there is a plugin conflict that I can identify, I'll see if I can rectify that for you.

How long do you store backups?

Backups are stored for 30 days on a rolling basis.
