Frequently Asked Questions

How long will it take to design and build my website?

Most often, you can have your new site up and running in four weeks or so, but the timeline varies with every client. The biggest variable in the timeline is how long it takes you to provide me with the content (text and images) needed for the site.

Can you redesign my existing website?

Absolutely! If your site is looking a little tired, dated, or just doesn't reflect you or your business any more, a redesign can be a big boost for your business.

What types of businesses do you work with?

I work mainly with small to medium sized businesses and non-profits. I have built sites for salons, consultants, speakers, authors, schools, unions, restaurants, and others.

How much will a new website cost?

The cost of every project is different, depending on the needs and requirements of the client. After we've discussed your project and individual needs, I'll provide you with a firm quote and scope of work so you'll know exactly how much your project will be, without any budget surprises. A basic business website will probably start at around $2500, and sites with more complex needs and functionality will go up from there.

Do you use WordPress?

Yes, I use WordPress to design and build all of my clients' websites. WordPress is the most widely used content management system, running about 26% of all sites on the internet. It is extremely flexible, customizable, and easy to use.

Does it matter which web hosting company I use?

I strongly recommend using a quality webhost. If your website is important to your business, do not trust it to cheap web hosting. I cannot stress this strongly enough. I'm an Agency Partner for WPEngine, and they are who I use and recommend for WordPress hosting.

Can you help me maintain my site after it's built?

I sure can. Once a site is live on the internet, it needs regular maintenance to keep running smoothly. Updates, security, backups, and upgrades are all critical, and need to be handled on a regular schedule, or it is a given that your site will run the risk of breaking or getting hacked. Let me handle those tasks for you with one of my WordPress Website Care Plans, so you can focus on running your business.

Will I be able to add blog posts on my own?

Sure thing. Once your site is up and running, WordPress makes it easy for you to add content to your site. I'll show you how, or if you like, I can do it for you through one of my Customer Care plans.
