Does Your Agency Need Help Launching WordPress Websites?

My name is Dave Soucy and I'm a freelance WordPress consultant, designing and building sites for small businesses and nonprofits. I also do white-label design/build work for digital agencies.

I have been building WordPress sites for clients for six years now. I'm fluent in HTML and CSS, and very comfortable manipulating files and databases, migrating sites to various hosting platforms, converting sites from other platforms (Wix, Squarespace, static HTML) to WordPress, and designing responsive sites that look great across mobile, tablet, and desktop screens.

I've worked with a variety of hosts, though my favorites are WPEngine and Flywheel. My go-to workflow starts with a clean, lean theme (Astra is a current favorite), a custom child theme, and includes Beaver Builder and Beaver Themer for page layouts and templates. If custom post types are needed, Pods would be my first choice, as it works very nicely with Beaver Themer on the front end. I also have experience with Visual Composer (now WP Bakery), Avada, and other themes and page builders.

I've been user of Photoshop for close to ten years, and I'm able to manipulate images and graphics for my web design needs without hesitation.

Having worked with a remote teams, I'm comfortable with various project management & communication tools (Asana, Basecamp, Monday, Slack, Skype, Hubstaff, etc.).

Sound like a good fit? Contact me below and let's chat about it.

Barefoot Fun Facts

Before Barefoot

Before Barefoot, I started my career with 13 years in increasingly senior corporate management roles, with full P&L responsibility for budgets of over $25 million and personnel management of up to 30+ staff members. I've owned three businesses, and have sold two of them.

Family

I've been married since 1990, and have a fantastic wife, two awesome daughters, and a mutt named Buddy.

When I'm Not Working...

You can probably find me at the gym, at one of my daughters' sports or cheer events, or hanging with friends.

Favorite Things

I'm a Boston sports guy, a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots, and a more recent fan of the New England Revolution. I love sushi, a good sandwich, and going to the gym. Laying on the beach is great, but I'd prefer a hike in the mountains.

Totally Random

I work at a standing desk. I've never watched "Game of Thrones". Or ET. I created my first website way back before the internet was cool. I believe that complex problems are often best served by simple solutions. And coffee. An unfortunate lawnmower accident in the 90s led to me having half a big toe on my left foot. That's why the logo is a right foot.
